Originally published by Petter Limited in 1932 this catalogue covers
everything that was current at the time. The contents, with over 200 photographs,
runs the gamut of contemporary engines and equipment, from the well known
M and S two-stroke engines through to high compression road and rail engines,
plus even a section devoted to Westland Aircraft. Coverage also takes
in the Universal air-cooled engines, diesel, marine engines, compressors,
farm equipment, mixers, diggers, winches and hoists. A technical section
covers the workings of the well known mechanical calibrater lubricator
plus sundry useful calculations dealing with air compressors, pumping,
electrics and switchboards.
A comprehensive marine section covers both hot-bulb and spark ignition
engines with illustrations of typical installations in 1930s craft. The
Petter -Universal flat-twin which later went on to power WW2 landing craft
is also described.
